John Peter Williams
Non-Executive Director – Mobile Interactive Group
Mr Williams was appointed to the board of directors following his lead investor position in the £250,000 business angel fundraising in 2005.
Mr Williams is the owner of Very Mobile Group Limited (www.verymobilegroup.com), a company that specialises in investing in companies in the telecommunications industry.
Peter has extensive experience at Board level and has been a director of RPC Plc, a Pan-European Rigid Plastics Producer, (www.rpc-group.com) since 1991 and Chairman since 2001. RPC Ltd is listed on the LSA.
In September 2002, Mr Williams retired as Chief Executive of D S Smith, a LSE listed paper, packaging and office products' company: D S Smith's turnover had grown under his direction from £350 million to £1.5 billion through strong organic growth and by acquisition. (www.dssmith.uk.com)
Prior to his leading role at DS Smith, Mr. Williams was involved with various enterprises including:
- Director of Reed International, now Reed Elseveir
- Director of Electra Investment Trust Plc (www.electratrust.com), since 1993. The trust specialises in venture capital and is second largest in the UK behind 3i.
- A significant shareholder and recently a Director of Xenos Group plc for several years. Xenos specialises in transferring complex legacy data into industry-standard e-content formats for presentation on the internet. Xenos is listed on the TSE. (www.xenos.com)
- Chairman and the controlling shareholder of Gaines Europe Ltd, a private pet treats manufacturer based in Ireland. (www.gaineseurope.com)
- Director of Puca Technologies Limited, (www.puca.com), a company providing software and infrastructure solutions to media companies.
Mr Williams is Canadian and is married with five children.
